Patrick Slaney
VP Engineering

Mr. Slaney has over 20 years experience in software development. At Software Arts, he worked on the tools used to produce VisiCalc and on the Spotlight desk accessory product. As an Interleaf Fellow, he was responsible for pagination and much of the graphics. At Intuit, he worked on the original proprietary online banking system, was responsible for client security in Open Financial Exchange (OFX), wrote other security features such as the pin vault and the client certificate management code shared by Quickbooks and Quicken, and served as a security consultant to other groups within the company. On the side, he wrote the software for the Montalvo digital tension controller, an embedded system, and developed numerous other industrial control products.

He's a graduate of Cornell University, and has taught computer science at Northeastern University's night school, and spoken frequently about cryptography and computer security.
