Chief
Technology Officer, SafeDisk Inc. Responsibilities
The CTO reports to the CEO and is a key leadership position in the company.
This position is ideal for an experienced application development professional
who has deep knowledge and experience in building and delivering distributed software
applications featuring high levels of security and scalability.
- Oversees all
technical resources in the company, directing software/hardware infrastructure,
product development, QA, documentation and system operations and security.
- Directs
recruiting of all technical staff.
- Oversees
management of intellectual property assets, including development and filing of
patent applications.
Qualifications
- Previous experience
as a CTO or VP of Engineering or equivalent at either a public company or successful
Internet start-up.
- B.S.
or M.S. in Computer Science or other applicable degree.
- Proven
experience in building and managing technical teams. Ability to manage multiple
development teams, projects, contractors and vendors.
- A
comprehensive understanding of the software development process, with a record
of success of delivering products or services on time and within budget.
- Deep
understanding of current technology as it relates to Internet-based services,
including e-mail, chat, HTML, XML, Java, Perl and C++ and development methodologies.
- Experience
with systems incorporating high levels of security along with a knowledge of cryptography
and current Internet security protocols.
- Experience
with large disk storage environments and scalable databases.
- Knowledge
and experience with hosting large volume Internet traffic.
- Positive
attitude with a strong sense of urgency and a good team player. A desire to create
useful and interesting products and services along with a strong and dynamic team.
